Closing in on 1000 Points with Thundrik’s Profiteers

Small hobby wins count too

Sometimes a hobby update is not about finishing a whole army, but about getting one step closer to a nice, satisfying milestone. That was exactly the mood here.

At the start of January, end3r was deep in list-building and assembly mode. The plan was simple: not everything would get built in time, but if two models could be finished and another two from Thundrik’s Profiteers joined the roster, that would round the force out to a clean 1000 points.

That kind of target always feels good. It is not just about the number itself — it is about finally having a force that feels complete enough to put on the table without too many compromises.

Calling in the Profiteers

Luckily, logistics were on our side. Michal agreed to bring Thundrik’s Profiteers along, which meant the plan was alive.

There is something very relatable about this stage of the hobby: half-finished plans, a few models still waiting for glue or paint, and a lot of optimism that yes, this time we can make the points work. We know that feeling very well.

Meet the new guy: Petarda

The real star of this little update, though, is the newest addition introduced by end3r: Petarda.

As described, he does not actually hold any weapon — but apparently he still has a role to play as cannon fodder. Honestly, that already sounds like a proper Warhammer career path.

Petarda, the newest recruit

We are always fond of these small moments when a model gets a nickname before it even gets a full heroic story. Very often that is how the best miniatures in a collection start out — with one joke, one photo, and suddenly they are a permanent part of the army’s identity.

One more step forward

So this was one of those short but very real hobby progress moments: a couple of models away from the goal, support arriving from a friend, and a fresh recruit ready to bravely stand where the explosions are worst.

Not every update needs to be huge. Sometimes getting to that round number and naming the next miniature is more than enough to keep the momentum going.

We are definitely curious how fast this 1000-point force made it to the table after that.
