The Empire for The Old World Arrived… and We’re Still Not Sold
A fresh delivery landed
Michał dropped a photo on our chat with one simple update: the Empire for Warhammer: The Old World delivery had arrived from 2d6.

And honestly? First impression was easy: it looks great. Stas immediately summed it up perfectly — it really does look fantastic on arrival.
So… are we starting TOW battles now?
Naturally, the next question appeared almost instantly: so what, battle in TOW?
The answer was immediate and brutally honest: absolutely not.
That pretty much captures our current relationship with Warhammer: The Old World. We can appreciate the models, the nostalgia, and the visual appeal of the range, but that doesn’t automatically mean we’re ready to jump into the game itself.
What’s bothering us
Michał put his finger on the problem in a very direct way: it feels like they made a game where there are basically three armies, and two of them are effectively the same army with different colors. From that perspective, it just feels pointless.
That’s obviously a very chat-message version of the argument, but the mood is clear. Right now, the setting and releases may look cool, but the faction variety — or at least the feeling of variety — just isn’t doing it for us.
Cool box, no hype train
So this one lands firmly in the nice purchase, questionable motivation category.
We’re happy to see hobby deliveries arriving, we’re always glad to admire a fresh box, and we’ll never complain about getting more Warhammer stuff on the table to look at. But at least for now, this isn’t the post where we announce a glorious return to ranked-up square bases.
For the moment, it’s more like: great-looking delivery, very limited desire to actually play.
And honestly? That’s also part of the hobby sometimes.
