Grey Seer Down in Round Three
A quick one from the tabletop
Sometimes a battle report is less about the full turn-by-turn breakdown and more about that one moment everyone remembers afterwards. This was definitely one of those games.
By round three, the big news was already in: the Grey Seer was down.

That kind of loss always changes the feel of the table immediately. Even without going into every charge, spell and combat resolution, you can imagine the shift — one key model removed, plans suddenly needing to be rewritten, and the rest of the battle turning into damage control or an opportunistic push.
What also stood out was the pace of the game. We were taking about an hour per round, which tells you everything you need to know: this was not a rushed game. Lots of thinking, measuring, reconsidering, and trying to see not just the current turn, but the next few as well.
And speaking of thinking ahead — Andrzej was, apparently, in his natural habitat: deep in thought the entire time.

Born strategist? Very possible. Thinking five rounds ahead? Also possible. Then again… if we’re already in round three, maybe that’s a slightly ambitious timeline.
Still, that’s a big part of why we enjoy these games so much. Sometimes the best memories are not just the dramatic model removal, but the atmosphere around the table: the pauses, the concentration, the jokes, and that shared feeling that every decision might matter a lot in a turn or two.
This one gave us all of that:
- a major character taken out by round three,
- a game pace that rewarded careful planning,
- and at least one player visibly operating on a higher strategic plane.
Short report, but a memorable snapshot from the battlefield.
If nothing else, one thing is certain: the Grey Seer will not be making it to round four.
