Two Weeks of Painting Hell: Six Daemons Finished
Michal has just wrapped up one of the toughest painting projects of his hobby journey so far: six daemons finished after two weeks of fighting with them.
That short message said everything, honestly. Sometimes a project just refuses to go easily. You sit down for “just a bit of painting,” and suddenly it turns into a proper endurance test. This was apparently one of those jobs.
But the important part is the ending: all six are done.
And they really do look great.

Ender summed it up perfectly in chat: they look awesome.
We also had a very relatable post-painting moment here: finishing the minis is one challenge, and then photographing them turns out to be a completely different boss fight. Michal mentioned that he needs to learn focus stacking, because the photos still don’t quite do them justice.
And honestly, that’s one of the most familiar hobby feelings out there. You spend ages getting the details right, finally put the brush down, take a picture… and the camera immediately decides to expose every flaw while hiding the stuff that actually looks good in person.
Still, even with that, the final result absolutely comes through: this was a hard project, it took real persistence, and the payoff is a fully finished set of six daemons on the other side.
We always like seeing this kind of update, because it captures a very real part of the hobby. Not every painted unit is a smooth, relaxing experience. Some are just a grind. But pushing through and finishing them anyway? That’s a great feeling.
Big congrats to Michal for getting all six over the line.
Two weeks of struggle, but mission accomplished.
