Testing Slaves to Darkness Spearhead
Michal dropped a quick update with a few photos and a very promising message: he’s testing Slaves to Darkness Spearhead.
Sometimes that’s all it takes to get us interested. A couple of snapshots from the table, a short message, and suddenly we’re already thinking about how a force looks, how it might play, and whether it has that right mix of brutality and style that makes us want to put it on the table ourselves.
First look at the force
From the photos, this looks like an early test run of the Spearhead rather than a big polished showcase — and honestly, we love that kind of hobby moment. This is the stage where an army starts becoming real: models on the table, first impressions forming, and those initial ideas about how the whole thing might come together.

Why Spearhead is fun for this kind of project
Spearhead feels like a great format for trying out an army such as Slaves to Darkness. You get enough on the table to feel the identity of the faction, but without needing to commit immediately to a full-scale collection. That makes it perfect for testing ideas, seeing what units feel good, and figuring out whether the army clicks both visually and in gameplay.
For us, that’s one of the best parts of army-building. Not just assembling a list, but discovering the army step by step.
Slaves to Darkness always bring the vibe
Even from a quick preview, Slaves to Darkness have that classic chaos appeal: heavy armor, dark presence, and the sense that every model is there to do serious damage. It’s one of those ranges that can look great even in the testing phase, before everything is fully painted and finished.
We’re definitely curious how this Spearhead performs on the table and whether this test turns into a bigger Age of Sigmar project later on.
Short update, but a cool one — and exactly the kind of army-building moment we like to capture on the blog.
