Late-Night Treelord Progress
Sometimes the best hobby updates arrive at the exact moment when we should definitely already be asleep.
This time it was Michał, dropping two late-night work-in-progress shots and summing up the mood perfectly: “probably time to go to sleep” — but also “we think this Treelord is going to be awesome.” And honestly, that is one of the most relatable painting phases in the whole hobby.
There is something very familiar about reaching that point late in the evening where the eyes are getting tired, the brush control is maybe not getting any better, but the model is finally starting to come together. You can suddenly see where it is going. The idea clicks. The silhouette works. The colours start making sense. And that is exactly the moment when it becomes hardest to stop.
From these WIP shots, the Treelord already has that promising this-could-turn-out-really-special energy.

We are very much fans of this stage of a project: not finished yet, still rough around the edges, but already exciting. It is the point where a model stops being just a collection of painted parts and starts becoming a proper centerpiece.
And let’s be honest — big tree spirits have a lot of centerpiece potential. A Treelord pretty much demands a bit of drama on the table, and it is always fun to see one taking shape layer by layer.
So yes, sleep was probably the correct tactical choice here. But also yes, we are fully on board with the prediction: this Treelord should be a banger.
Now we just have to wait for the next update.

“I should go to bed” is temporary.
“This model is going to be amazing” is forever.
