Three Painted Minis, and Suddenly It Feels Like a Unit

There’s a moment in this hobby that never really gets old: when a miniature stops being just plastic and starts to feel alive. Stas summed it up perfectly the other day — painted minis just come alive in a completely different way.

And honestly, it gets even better when there’s more than one of them on the table. Even a small group starts to tell a story. Right now it’s still an early-stage force — three painted models so far — but more are already on the way. And even at that size, you can already see the effect: a lone mini is cool, but a little squad? That’s where the magic starts.

We really like this stage of a project. Not the fully finished army shot, not the giant display yet — just that exciting point where a few painted figures are enough to make us want to keep going. You finish the first couple, put them next to each other, and suddenly the motivation for the next batch appears on its own.

Michał’s reaction in chat was short and to the point: awesome. Fair enough — sometimes that’s the only proper response.

This is one of the best reminders of why painting matters so much in Warhammer. The models don’t just look better with color on them — they gain character, presence, and that sense that they belong together. Even if for now it’s “just three”, we all know how these things go. First three, then a few more, and before long there’s a proper unit ready for the table.

We’re definitely looking forward to seeing the next ones join them.
