Numbers 6 and 7 Report for Duty

Stas dropped into the chat early in the morning with the kind of update we always like to see: miniatures number 6 and number 7 are alive and well, and they came to say hello.

Miniature number 6

Miniature number 7

And, as always happens with hobby projects, two painted figures quickly stop feeling like “just two painted figures.” A moment later the next photo landed, and suddenly it was clear that this is no longer a small side project — a proper little crowd is starting to form.

The growing painted group

What we liked most in this short exchange was how relatable the whole thing felt. First there is the satisfaction of adding another pair of finished models to the lineup. Then comes the moment of stepping back, looking at the desk, and realizing that the collection is beginning to look like an actual force. And right after that comes the universal hobby truth:

“Now we understand where slapchop came from. This takes so muuuuch time.”

Honestly, fair.

There is probably no more classic painting revelation than this one. When the painted count goes from one or two test models to six, seven, and beyond, every stage suddenly becomes very real: basecoats, cleanup, shading, highlights, details, bases… and somehow the evening disappears. Fast painting methods do not become popular by accident.

So this was a small update, but a very familiar one: the group is growing, the motivation is still there, and the time cost of painting an expanding warband is becoming impossible to ignore. In other words: a completely normal and healthy stage of the hobby journey.

We are definitely looking forward to seeing who joins numbers 6 and 7 next.
