Six Dwarfs in a Day

We love those hobby projects that start with pure nostalgia.

This time it was end3r going back to something that had caught his eye years ago. He mentioned that he had read about Warhammer 40k a long time back, liked these models immediately, and then… life happened. He forgot about it for years, partly because there was nobody around to play with anyway. Honestly, that feeling is probably familiar to a lot of hobbyists.

And then one day the old spark came back.

A full day of building

end3r spent basically the whole day assembling models and, as every hobbyist knows, the results on paper never sound as impressive as the effort feels during the process. After hours of clipping, cleaning, fitting and gluing, the final count was:

  • 6 dwarfs assembled
  • 13 models still to go
  • including 3 vehicles

Which is exactly the kind of progress that reminds us how deceptive miniature assembly can be. You sit down thinking you’ll get through a pile of plastic, and then suddenly the day is gone and you’ve finished… six infantry models.

Of course, every one of them had different weapons

To make it even better, these weren’t six identical rank-and-file bodies. Naturally, each dwarf had a different weapon.

And that always changes the pace of assembly.

Different arms, different poses, checking which bit fits where, making sure everything lines up properly — it all adds up. It’s the kind of hobby session that feels slow in the moment, but when you look back at it, you know real progress was made.

The kind of project we really enjoy

There is something especially satisfying about projects like this: old interest turning into actual plastic on the table. Even if the first step is “only” six models, it’s still the moment where an idea stops being a vague memory and becomes a real army project.

And honestly, with 13 models left, including 3 vehicles, this is still just the beginning.

We will definitely be watching this one with interest — both for the build progress and, hopefully, for the painting stage next.
