Grenade Launcher Done, Kharadron Almost Ready
We love those hobby moments when one finished detail suddenly makes the whole project feel real. This time it was end3r checking in with a small but important update: the grenade launcher is done.

Sometimes that is exactly the kind of win we need. Not every prep session is about completing an entire army in one heroic push — sometimes it is about getting one key model, one weapon, or one unit to the point where we can honestly say: okay, this will do, let’s play.
And that was very much the mood here.
According to the plan, this version will have to be enough for now. Three axe guys are going to be proxied as Kharadron Overlords, and two skuters will stand in as bases. Very much a practical, get-it-on-the-table approach — which, honestly, we respect a lot. We are big fans of not letting perfect be the enemy of actually rolling dice.
There is still one more important step left before game night: putting together a 2,000-point Kharadron Overlords list. So the painting and modelling side may be just about good enough, but the list-building still needs to happen.
On the gaming side, end3r also floated a plan for the next meetup: dropping by around 18:00 tomorrow and ideally getting in a game of Age of Sigmar Spearhead. The reasoning is extremely relatable — Spearhead is the format he already knows, and just as importantly, it has a much better chance of actually finishing in an evening. A bigger battle or Combat Patrol-style game would probably risk running too long for a Friday session.
And honestly, that is a very sensible place to be. When time is limited, getting a full game in beats ambitiously starting something huge and packing up halfway through.
So this is where things stand:
- the grenade launcher made it over the finish line,
- the Kharadron plan is entering pragmatic proxy territory,
- the 2k list still needs to be written,
- and Spearhead sounds like the safest bet for a proper game night.
Exactly the kind of in-progress hobby update we enjoy most: a bit of painting, a bit of list stress, a bit of figuring out what can reasonably hit the table tomorrow.
We will absolutely take that.
