Kill Team August Is Looking Busy: League Games, Reserve Lists and the Academy
We love it when one casual chat suddenly turns into a full hobby calendar, and that is exactly what happened this time. August is shaping up to be a very Kill Team-heavy month for us — or at least for end3r, who somehow managed to pack leagues, backup sign-ups and future training plans into a single week of conversation.
League game on 16.08
The closest thing on the horizon is a Kill Team league game on Saturday, 16.08 at 11:00. End3r is bringing Kommandos, which already sounds like the right mix of sneaky nonsense and brutal violence that makes Kill Team so much fun.
We are always happy to see our group showing up for organized play, especially in formats like leagues where you can really feel yourself improving from game to game. Also, let’s be honest: having a date locked in helps a lot when hobby motivation needs a little push.
Not one league, but two
As if one league was not enough, it turns out there is also a second Kill Team league in Warsaw, hosted at Xjoy on Książkowa. End3r managed to get in at the last moment from the reserve list, which is both impressive and very relatable for anyone who has ever joined an event with the energy of “well, maybe there will still be a spot”.
That means August is not just about a single game, but about getting involved in a broader local Kill Team scene. And honestly, that is one of the coolest parts of this kind of system — there is always someone to play, someone to learn from, and usually someone ready to punish every tiny positioning mistake.
The numbers look serious
The attendance alone says a lot about how active the local scene is right now:
- 20 players signed up in 2d6
- 24 players signed up in Xjoy
That is a lot of Kill Team tables, a lot of operatives, and a lot of opportunities to get experience the hard way.
As end3r put it best: there will definitely be plenty of people to get thoroughly beaten by ;)
And really — that is the healthy way to look at it. Strong local metas and packed events are great if you want to improve. You may take a few painful lessons along the way, but those are usually the games you remember best afterward.
Kill Team Academy at MGC
Another thing that caught our eye is the Akademia Kill Team at MGC on Baleya. From what end3r heard, they run really solid training sessions, which sounds like a fantastic initiative for anyone wanting to level up their fundamentals.
The nearest session is on 13.08, and this one unfortunately does not fit the schedule, but the plan is to go to the next one. That sounds like a very good call to us. Organized practice and coaching-style events can be worth a lot, especially in a game as dense and technical as Kill Team.
If you know exactly when to push, when to conceal, when to trade, and when to simply not overextend like a maniac, you are already doing better than half the field. Possibly better than us on some days.

A good problem to have
What we like most here is that this is the kind of “problem” every hobby player wants: too many good events, too many chances to play, and too many strong opponents nearby. That is a great sign for the community.
So for now the plan looks simple:
- league game on 16.08 at 11:00
- Kommandos on the table
- second league in Xjoy also lined up
- Akademia Kill Team on the radar for the next available date
We are keeping our fingers crossed for good games, good pairings and the right amount of chaotic ork energy. And if the beatings do come, at least they will be educational.
See you across the barricades.
