A Small Tournament Snapshot: Skaven Tech, Triple Brood Terrors and Kharadron on Top

Quick hobby news from the tournament front

Sometimes a whole blog post starts from just a few excited messages on chat, and honestly, we love that kind of energy. This time we got a neat little snapshot of what was happening at a couple of parallel tournaments, and there were a few things interesting enough that we just had to save them here on Wiatry Magii.

First up: apparently it is the end of proxying the Bell as a Warp Lightning Cannon.

Skaven model update

That one line says a lot if you know the hobby life. At some point every army has that temporary stand-in model, the “it’ll do for now” solution that somehow survives much longer than planned. This time it sounds like the Skaven setup finally got the proper piece in place, which is always a satisfying moment. Few things feel better than retiring a proxy and putting the real model on the table.

Then came the more competitive bit: a list with three Brood Terrors took second place at a GT that day.

Triple Brood Terrors list result

We always enjoy seeing results like this pop up, especially when they involve something that sounds a little wild at first glance. Triple monster lists tend to immediately grab attention, and a strong finish at a GT means this was not just a meme pick. We do not have the full tournament breakdown here, but second place is enough to make us stop and take notice.

And as if that was not enough, over at a parallel event, Kharadron Overlords won the tournament.

That got the only appropriate response in chat:

Fair, concise, and completely correct.

Why we liked this little update

What we enjoy most about these small reports is that they capture the hobby exactly as it is for most of us: a mix of modeling progress, list tech, and tournament gossip. One message is about finally replacing a proxy. The next is about a monster-heavy list doing great at a GT. Then suddenly Kharadron are taking a win somewhere else. That is basically the full Warhammer event experience in miniature.

It is also a nice reminder that the meta never sits still for long. One day we are looking at Skaven hobby progress, the next we are side-eyeing triple Brood Terrors, and at the same time the sky-ports are apparently doing just fine.

If nothing else, this was one of those evenings where tournament chatter delivered exactly what it should: a bit of surprise, a bit of inspiration, and at least one list result that makes us curious to see more.

We will definitely keep an eye out for more little event highlights like this one.
