A chronicle of our Warhammer journey - painting, battles, and hobby adventures.

A Closer Look at a Modular Terrain Build

We only got a few quick preview shots this time, but honestly, they were enough to catch our attention straight away.

From Michał’s photos, the build already looks like a really practical piece of terrain — and the best part is the modular construction. As he showed, each floor can be removed, which instantly opens up a lot of gaming possibilities.

That kind of design is something we always like seeing in Warhammer terrain. It looks good on the table, but it also makes the piece much easier to actually use during a game. No awkward hand angles, no trying to guess where models are standing inside a building, and no accidental destruction while moving miniatures around.

What stood out to us

The rear view gives a better sense of the structure and how the levels fit together:

And here we can clearly see the idea behind the build — every level lifts off separately:

Why we like this kind of terrain

Modular buildings are just fun. They work great for narrative games, skirmish systems, and full-sized battles alike. Being able to take the structure apart floor by floor makes gameplay smoother and usually encourages us to actually fight over the inside of a building instead of treating it like a sealed block.

It’s a small detail on paper, but on the tabletop it makes a huge difference.

We’re definitely curious to see this one painted and finished, because the construction itself already looks very promising.
