Wiatry Magii

A chronicle of our Warhammer journey - painting, battles, and hobby adventures.

A Parcel Full of Beasts, Pirates, and Lizards

Michał just picked up a parcel from Patryk, and honestly, it turned into one of those hobby hauls that immediately makes the group chat light up. As Ender put it best: quite a zoo.

This was very much a purchase post, but also the kind of purchase that instantly starts generating campaign ideas. The package looks like it is going to feed several different corners of our ongoing Warhammer plans, and maybe even a few secrets for the narrative campaign down the line.

Michał’s first impression was very positive too: the print quality looks solid overall. In his words, one or two things are a bit meh, but not in a way that really gives him much to complain about.

First out of the box: vampire doggos

We started strong with 10 vampire dogs. A very promising beginning, and exactly the sort of unit that makes us want to ask questions about who is commanding them and where they came from.

A Kislev detour

Then came something from a very different corner of the setting: Bear Druzhyna from Kislev. We always have a soft spot for Kislev-flavoured stuff, and this one definitely adds to the growing sense that this parcel was not built around just one neat, tidy army list.

Firepower for the Empire side

Next up: ten Outriders with repeater guns. A proper chunk of mobile dakka, and a really fun sight in bulk.

Alongside them, Michał also unpacked several human foot wizards, which together are meant to become the core of Renegade Crowns. That one immediately caught our attention, because even a small pile of wizard models can become a very characterful project once it gets tied into a campaign.

Then the undead pirates arrived

And then things got even better: 30 zombie pirates. This is exactly the kind of purchase that makes us start inventing scenarios before the models are even cleaned up.

At this point Stas immediately asked the important question: are these going to become Lustria armies? Lizards and vampirates certainly sound like they belong there.

A whole lot of Lizardmen energy

The second half of the parcel leaned hard into reptiles.

First, 20 lizard skinks:

Then a few Kroxigors:

Then a unit of Saurus:

And finally, to top it all off, a Saurus Veteran on Cold One:

That is a seriously fun spread of models, and definitely enough to justify Ender’s “zoo” comment.

So what are these armies going to be?

For now, the answer is: we’ll see.

Michał said they may or may not end up being from Lustria specifically, but one thing is already clear: they are going to support our narrative campaign. And that is probably the most exciting part of the whole parcel.

We love it when a purchase is not just “more plastic/resin on the shelf,” but the beginning of new factions, side forces, and campaign hooks. In this case, the backstory may not be revealed right away either. As Michał suggested, maybe the real story of these armies will only become clear after they are defeated.

Which, honestly, is exactly the kind of ominous campaign energy we enjoy.

If this haul is the start of a hidden thread in our narrative games, then we are very much in.
