We’re eyeing the May 2 Warhammer store release

Sometimes a whole hobby plan starts with a single message: “these prints are cool!” and then suddenly we’re discussing whether it’s worth getting up early and queueing at the store.

That was basically our chat this time. Wilini dropped a photo and tagged End3r, and from there the discussion quickly turned into the very practical question: do we go on May 2, or do we wait a week?

End3r was on the fence at first. If the event really happens on the morning of May 2, motivation might be a bit shaky — very relatable, honestly. The backup plan was simple enough: maybe just go a week later instead.

Of course, because this is a Warhammer conversation, it didn’t stop at logistics. There was also immediate hobby brain at work: how would the colours look? End3r was already thinking through the scheme, especially whether a green treatment would really work for the coat. The early idea was that maybe the cloak wouldn’t look quite right in green, so perhaps a lighter armour with a darker cloak could be the better direction.

That kind of thing is very much our normal mode: first we discuss whether we’re even going, and five seconds later we’re already painting the mini in our heads.

On the next day the plan shifted again — and this time in the more dangerous direction for our wallets. End3r said that actually, maybe May 2 is the day after all. Based on previous experience, showing up about 30 minutes before opening had been enough.

Then Michał added an important bit of field intel from March: even at 16:30 there was still a Marauder available. That definitely makes the whole thing sound less stressful. Maybe this won’t need a dawn raid after all.

So where we landed is somewhere between “we should probably go” and “we may still try to be sensible about it.” Which, in hobby terms, usually means there is a very real chance someone will end up standing in a queue anyway.

If nothing else, this was one of those very familiar little Warhammer moments: a cool promo, a bit of planning, a bit of second-guessing, and a quick detour into paint scheme theory before anyone has even left the house.

We’ll see whether May 2 becomes a proper mini-adventure for us — but right now, it’s definitely on the radar.
