A Small Battle-Stock Shopping Round for The Old World

We had one of those very relatable hobby chats that starts with a simple “maybe we should order something” and quickly turns into browsing old minis, movement trays, and trying not to cry over prices.

This time the topic was mostly Battle-Stock and a few bits we might want for our armies in Warhammer: The Old World. It began innocently enough with movement trays. Wilini said he’d want some trays as well, and End3r chimed in that a 4x4 or 5x3 tray would probably be useful for him — maybe even both, depending on what would fit best after some swapping around.

That immediately put us into practical army-building mode, because honestly, movement trays are one of those things we always appreciate more once we actually have them. Especially in rank-and-flank games, they just make life easier.

Later, Michał dropped a batch of screenshots into the chat for Pegie to check out, and then followed it up with the very important observation that he had only just noticed how much the guy was charging. That was met with the perfect response from Pegie: his cheap little heart was bleeding. Very fair, very real, very hobby.

Here are the screenshots Michał shared during that discussion:

At the same time, Michał was also trying to sort out something more specific: he needed 20 Clanrats for a dragon, and asked Staś whether he wanted anything from Battle-Stock as part of the order. He also opened the invitation to the rest of us in case anyone wanted some oldhammer goodies.

Staś was in, saying he could confirm around 20:00, and Michał was good with that. Wilini, meanwhile, politely passed on the offer.

Then came the truly inspiring part of the conversation: Michał found a very nice Bretonnian cavalry tray and immediately shared it with the group, specifically calling out how beautiful those trays would look for lance formations.

And because no shopping discussion is complete without at least one classic greenskin pick, Staś also repeated his standing choice: Black Orcs.

Wilini’s final word was basically: let him know what happens, especially since he’s back to work on 14 May.

So this wasn’t a giant order summary yet, more like one of those classic early-stage group hobby shopping talks: a few practical tray needs, a few tempting oldhammer options, some price pain, and at least one very solid greenskin pick. In other words: a completely normal day in our Warhammer chat.

If this turns into a full order, we’ll definitely come back with the final haul.
