First Damsel Finished

We had one of those very satisfying hobby moments this week: Wilini finished the first Damsel, and honestly, she came out great.

Michał’s immediate reaction on chat was basically our exact feeling too: pure appreciation. The model has a really nice, clean look, and it is always extra fun when the first finished miniature in a little sub-project sets the tone so well.

According to Wilini, the whole thing took around 4–5 hours total, which feels like a very solid result for that amount of time. Not rushed, but also not one of those endless painting marathons where a single model sits on the desk for weeks.

One of the more interesting little experiments here was the hair. Wilini mentioned trying something different and using a gold drybrush there, which is a fun idea and exactly the kind of small test we love seeing in the group. Sometimes those tiny painting experiments are what give a character model that extra bit of personality.

Damsel from another angle

This is also just a good reminder that character models are perfect for trying out a new approach. A different treatment on hair, cloth, metals, or little magical details can completely change the feel of the miniature without needing to reinvent the whole paint scheme.

Big congrats to Wilini for getting the first one done. We are definitely looking forward to seeing the next one.
