Kislev as a Nomadic Waaagh? Yes, We’re Absolutely Doing That

We love those hobby moments when one cool model idea suddenly turns into a whole army concept. This week, that happened fast.

It started with pure enthusiasm from Michał — and honestly, we get it. Sometimes you look at a regiment and immediately know it has the vibe.

A regiment that kicked off the whole idea

Michał summed it up perfectly: it was just a really damn good regiment. And from there, the idea snowballed almost instantly into something much bigger: building a force using Kislevite models as proxies.

At first it was still a general direction — Michał mentioned that he had already found all the files and was thinking about proxying some army with Kislev. A few days later, the concept became much more concrete:

We’re going to proxy Nomadic Waaagh with Kislev :)

And honestly? We are very into this.

There is something really fun about taking an army list with a specific battlefield identity and reinterpreting it through a completely different visual theme. In this case, the appeal is obvious: a mobile, aggressive, fast-feeling force represented by Kislevite models sounds like exactly the kind of army project that can be both stylish and full of character.

What we also liked in this little exchange is that the idea immediately turned contagious. Stas picked up on it right away, connecting it to an earlier thought that it would be fun to play something faster on the table. And yes — that made Nomads sound even more tempting.

That is one of our favorite parts of group hobbying: one person starts with “this regiment is amazing,” and a moment later someone else is already thinking, “wait, maybe I want to play that style too.”

So at this point, the plan is simple:

  • Kislevite aesthetic
  • Nomadic Waaagh rules
  • all the files already found
  • a fast army concept that sounds genuinely exciting

That is more than enough for us to call this an army-building project in the making.

We are very curious how this one develops, because it has all the ingredients of a great proxy army: a strong visual identity, a clear gameplay idea, and that initial burst of excitement that usually means the project is going to happen for real.

If Michał follows through with it, this could become one of those forces that is memorable before it even hits the table.

And really, isn’t that the best kind of army idea?
