A Very Promising Resin Delivery for The Old World
We had one of those very satisfying hobby moments this week: a package arrived, it survived transport, and the first impression was simply wow.
Michał dropped a whole set of photos into our chat as soon as the parcel was in hand, and the reaction was immediate. The big question with resin purchases is always the same: did anything snap in transit? Thankfully, the answer this time seems to be no.

And honestly, that already sounds like a small victory.
First look at the delivery
Right from the first batch of photos, the overall feeling was that the quality looked really strong. Not “perfect straight out of the box” strong, because with resin there is almost always some cleanup involved, but definitely the kind of strong that gets us excited to start working on it.
Ender summed it up nicely: if the models arrived in that state and nothing broke, the whole thing must have been packed very well.
Good quality, with the usual cleanup
Michał’s verdict after handling the models was very positive. There are some bits to cut away, some places to sand, and the usual prep work before assembly, but nothing sounded alarming. Quite the opposite — the impression was that the casts are genuinely good and worth the effort.
That is pretty much the sweet spot for this kind of purchase. We never expect resin to behave like a modern one-piece push-fit plastic kit. If the details are crisp and the cleanup is manageable, we’re happy.
One practical note that came up straight away: for anyone assembling similar kits, Michał recommended getting Joker glue and an accelerator/activator for it. Very sensible advice if we want to avoid holding awkward resin joins together forever.
Straight to hobby mode
The best sign that a purchase was a success is when nobody leaves it sitting in a box for two weeks.
Michał pretty much went straight from “parcel received” to “I’ve already cleaned one miniature and I’m about to glue and prime it.” That kind of momentum says everything. Once the first cleanup was done, the opinion stayed the same: yes, a few things need trimming and filing, but overall the quality looks seriously good.

So what is it exactly?
When Wilini asked what unit it was, Michał clarified that the model is Harald Gemunsen, Grand Master of the Knights Panther — a named Empire hero.
The fun part is that, in our plans, he is not necessarily staying in his original role.
Michał mentioned that he’ll be used as a Renegade Prince, which is exactly the kind of repurposing we love. A great sculpt is a great sculpt, and if it fits the army idea on the table, even better.
Early verdict
So, first impressions are very simple:
- solid packaging,
- no transport disaster,
- good-looking resin quality,
- some cleanup required,
- and enough excitement to start building immediately.
That is a very successful hobby purchase in our book.
Pegie already said he’ll swing by after the weekend during his week off, so we’re expecting this delivery to turn into actual table-ready progress soon. We’re definitely curious to see how the rest of the models look once cleaned up and primed.
