A Salamander Captain from Armageddon Caught Our Eye
We had one of those small but very satisfying hobby moments this week: end3r spotted a beautifully painted Captain from Armageddon, done up as a Salamander, and immediately shared it with us because the style felt a bit familiar — not quite Elminiaturista, but definitely in that same clean, striking direction.
What really grabbed us here is the combination of that classic Salamanders green with the grimy, war-torn Armageddon vibe. It is a really fun crossover in visual identity: a model rooted in one iconic campaign, but painted in a chapter scheme that gives it a completely different energy. We always like seeing that kind of interpretation, where someone stays within the Warhammer 40,000 universe but still makes the miniature feel personal.
A little later, end3r dropped another screenshot — and then the best part followed: this very paintjob actually landed in that day’s Warhammer Community article about Armageddon paint schemes.
That is just cool. It is always nice to see strong community painting get highlighted officially, especially when it is something distinctive rather than just the most obvious box-art route. Armageddon is already such a characterful setting, and seeing people reinterpret its miniatures through different chapter identities makes us want to experiment more with our own armies too.
