A Wyvern Gift and Another Step Past 2000 Points
Sometimes a hobby surprise lands on the table and immediately makes the whole day better. This time it was Wilini showing off a brilliant gift from Staś — an absolutely badass model that instantly got us excited.
Wilini’s first reaction said it all: this was a proper present. The only thing left before getting it on the table was to grab some super glue and get it assembled. And honestly, we get it — some models just radiate that “I need to build this right now” energy.
Even better, this little gift pushed the collection to over 2000 points, which is always a satisfying milestone. There’s something special about crossing that line, when the army starts to feel really complete while still leaving loads of room for character projects and bigger centrepieces.
Staś, meanwhile, had mixed feelings — specifically about the unfortunate ork head impaled on the sword. As he put it, faction pride took a bit of a hit there, but he managed to swallow it. That’s the kind of sacrifice we respect in this hobby: giving someone an amazing model even when it comes with a tiny insult to your chosen greenskin loyalties.
Naturally, the banter escalated immediately, with hopes that the model would paint up well and then die gloriously in the claws of a wyvern. As one does.
Wilini is already thinking ahead about how to approach the paint job. One idea was to paint one of the characters in a Green Knight-inspired style, which sounds like a really fun direction for making the heroes stand out. The Duke, on the other hand, may have to wait a bit — apparently that one looks like a bigger job and deserves a bit more time and attention.
And really, that was the final verdict from everyone involved: what a fantastic model.
Short post, but the hobby joy here was too good not to share. We love these moments — a cool gift, some immediate army-list math, plans for hero paint schemes, and a bit of faction-flavoured trash talk on top.
Now we just need to see it glued together and, eventually, painted.
