Not Everything Green Is a Salamander
We got a small but very relatable painting update from Wilini this week: just some solid progress shots, followed immediately by the classic hobby moment where green armour triggers one very specific association.
End3r looked at the mini and dropped the verdict: “Salamander on a horse!”
Wilini was quick to answer that not everything green is a Salamander — which, honestly, is fair — but also admitted that there was some truth to that read. And yeah, we can see it too.
It is always fun when a paint scheme starts giving off strong faction energy even if that was not necessarily the whole plan. Sometimes a color just carries a lot of Warhammer baggage with it, and green definitely does that.

The model is already looking really promising, with that rich green doing most of the heavy lifting for the overall character. Even without a long breakdown of the recipe, it is one of those schemes that immediately catches the eye.

We love these little in-progress shares because they capture a very real part of the hobby: showing something mid-way, getting instant reactions, and then defending our paint choices like they were part of a grand artistic manifesto. In this case, the defense was simple: green does not automatically mean Salamanders. Even if… well… sometimes it kind of does.
Anyway, a fun little update, and we are definitely curious to see where Wilini takes this one next.
