Next Session Should Be the Finish
We had one of those very relatable hobby moments this week: the model is almost done, and the only thing left is deciding whether to play it safe or go for something a bit more dramatic.
Wilini dropped a few progress shots and summed it up perfectly: next session should probably be the finish. Always a great place to be — close enough to see the end, but still with one last decision that can completely change the final look.
The big question was the sword. Leave it silver and keep things clean and classic? Or push it further with a glaze transition from dark green up to light green?
Honestly, we love this kind of decision point. A plain metallic blade can look great, especially when the rest of the mini is already carrying plenty of detail. But at the same time, a green glaze on the sword has that irresistible “just one more cool thing” energy that so often wins in painting sessions.
Michał’s advice was short and direct: go with the glaze.
And that was enough.
Wilini decided that’s exactly what he’ll do.
So now we’re waiting for the next session, which should hopefully bring this one over the finish line. We always enjoy these little snapshots of the process — not just the finished result, but the tiny hobby debates along the way. Sometimes the whole character of a miniature comes down to one last choice like this.
And let’s be honest: when someone says they’re tempted to add a glowing green blade, the answer was probably always going to be yes.
