Angels almost ready: 10 models painted, bases left before Maneuvers
Sometimes the best kind of hobby update is the one where we can finally say: yep, the team is basically done.
end3r dropped some very satisfying progress shots of his Angels, and at this point the painting work is almost wrapped up. Apart from shoulder pad decals and the final varnish, the models are ready. There is still a small question mark over the grey highlights on the weapons and backpacks — the armor highlights already look good enough in his opinion, so those extra details may or may not happen depending on how things look on a final pass.
With Maneuvers coming up on Saturday, the real countdown has started: 6 days left to finish the bases.
What we really liked here is that moment every painter knows — when a project is technically almost finished, but there are still those last decisions hanging in the air. Do we push a few more highlights? Do we call it done and move on to basing? With an event deadline that close, we totally get the temptation to keep things practical.
Michał immediately asked the most important question: did he paint all of them?
And the answer was: yes, 10 guys are painted.
Well… “all of them” with a bit of roster logic involved. As end3r explained, it is:
- 5 out of the original 7 from the starting crew,
- plus 2 Warriors,
- plus 3 Assaults,
so the final result is a more optimal roster rather than a strict painting of the original lineup. Honestly, that is exactly the kind of decision we love seeing in skirmish projects: paint what gives you the best playable options, especially when there is a game day looming.

The verdict from the rest of us was simple: it came out really nicely. Clean work, a finished roster on the table, and now just the final hobby sprint to get the bases sorted before Saturday.
We are definitely keeping our fingers crossed for that last stretch, because there is something deeply satisfying about showing up to an event with a freshly finished, fully painted team.
