Siege Table Inspiration for Our Campaign
We stumbled onto a Reddit post showing a city siege scenario, and honestly, it hit us right in the hobby brain. It looked absolutely fantastic, and within a few messages we were already talking about what we’d need to build something similar for our own campaign: proper walls, siege engines, and a whole pile of thematic terrain.
This is exactly the kind of thing that makes campaign play so exciting for us. A cool battlefield can completely change the feel of a game, and a siege table has so much character built into it from the start. Big walls, defended gates, ladders, towers, ramshackle war machines — it’s the kind of setup that instantly tells a story before a single dice is rolled.
The photos we were looking at had that perfect “we need to make this happen” energy. Not just as a one-off table, but as something that could become part of our campaign toolkit. If we build a solid set of walls and a few siege pieces, we could reuse them in all sorts of narrative battles later.
Michal immediately went into full inspiration mode and said we have to build machines like these and matching walls for our campaign. And honestly, yes — this is the dream. Terrain like this is one of those hobby projects that feels huge at first, but also incredibly rewarding once it starts coming together.
Then Wilini threw out what might be the most dangerous idea of all: maybe we should organize a terrain-building workshop someday. Buy a bunch of materials, sit down together, and just make a stack of campaign scenery.
That sounds like exactly our kind of plan.
A day of cutting foam, gluing walls, testing textures, and figuring out how many weird little battlefield details we can cram onto the table? Absolutely. It’s also the kind of hobby session that helps turn vague “we should do this sometime” ideas into actual terrain pieces we can use.
So for now this is less a finished project and more a note from our shared hobby brain: we want siege terrain. We want walls. We want machines. And at some point, we really should get everyone together, stock up on materials, and build a proper set for the campaign.
Because let’s be honest — if a random Reddit post can get us this hyped, imagine how much fun it’ll be once we have our own fortress on the table.
